Wilderness First Aid and CPR/AED
The BRTA has teamed up with Active Source training to offer Red Cross CPR/AED and Basic Wilderness First Aid Certification good for two years. Note that CPR/AED is optional, however, current certification is required for WFA attendance. Active Source is a local training provider for the Northern Star Council of the Boy Scouts. They have been providing training for scouts and scoutmasters over the last 8 years. The training includes classroom instruction as well as hands-on scenarios to reinforce and practice your skills. CPR / AED runs from 8:30 AM to 12:00 Noon on Saturday. WFA runs from 1:00 PM to 8:30 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
Minnesota Rovers offers members an education discount of $40 for Wilderness First Aid training. Because funds are limited, prior approval is required. Registration and additional information is available on the Active Source website.
Estimated cost: $40 for CPR/AED, $70 for WFA ($110 combined).
