Backpackers Beef Stew

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. dehydrated shredded beef
  • 1/2 c. dehydrated vegetables
  • 1 T. powdered dried mushrooms
  • 1 T. tomato powder
  • 1 T. beef bouillon powder
  • 2 oz. rice noodles

Instructions

  • Cook pot roast or stew beef, shred and dehydrate
  • Cook mushrooms, dehydrate, and grind to powder
  • Pack all in large cook-in bag and seal
  • (Packit Gourmet sells good cook-in bags)

On Trail

  • Add 1-1/2-2 c. water to bag
  • Stir and reseal, let stand 15-20 minutes, mixing bag again 1/2-way through
  • Ready to eat!
