Throughout the year, the Minnesota Rovers organize special events, which range from fun, weekly outings to conservation volunteer opportunities and gear swaps. Find out more about these events below:
Intro Show (Spring and Fall)
Curious about the Minnesota Rovers? The Intro Show is just for you! Watch our slide show of Minnesota Rovers members on various scenic trips — all set to music. Talk to our representatives about hiking, backpacking, canoeing, biking, rock climbing, and more. Come find out more about Minnesota Rovers and see what we’re all about!
Can’t make it to the Intro Show? Attend any weekly meeting or join us on a day trip to find out more about the Minnesota Rovers!
The Intro Show is held twice yearly — in the spring and fall. Check the Trips & Activities page later for the next date, or just come to one of our weekly meetings to learn more about our club!
Extravaganza (Spring and Fall)
Our semi-annual “welcome & check us out” trip for everybody who likes the outdoors and wants to find out what the Minnesota Rovers is all about even before becoming a member.
Want a glimpse of what it’s like to be on a Minnesota Rovers trip?
Extravaganzas take place twice a year and enable everyone and anyone to try various activities as well as partake in our Saturday night dinner at the campfire. Activities include hiking, biking, rock climbing, paddling, delicious food, and an option of camping overnight. All levels from beginners to advanced are welcome.
We’ll be camping in a group camp setting. Friday and Saturday dinner will be pot-luck and you will be responsible for your own breakfast, lunch, and snacks. (Subject to change. More details provided during registration!)
You are welcome to join us for all three days or just for a couple of hours, but you don’t want to miss it. Please e-mail us with any questions.
Gear Swap
Twice a year the Minnesota Rovers host a gear swap at one of the regular Tuesday night meetings. Anyone who has any type of gear that they are no longer using can bring it to the swap and either sell it outright or make a trade with someone else. The gear is in good shape, and usually, the owners have simply chosen to upgrade or no longer have a need for that particular piece of equipment. It is a great way to get your hands on some gear if you just want to try it out without having to make a huge investment in brand new equipment.
Trail Clearing on the Border Route Trail
If you’d like to get into the woods and have fun while really making a worthwhile contribution, this is the trip for you. You will be able to do something totally different from your normal weekday life and feel good about making a positive contribution to recreation in Minnesota. Check out the Trips & Activities page for dates and details of the various trips this season.
