Let’s help Great River Greening plant trees from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Victoria Park in Saint Paul. The park is in the West Seventh Street neighborhood and replaces a brown field with much-needed green space, access to the Mississippi riverfront, and connections to other parks. The park is bordered by West Seventh Street, Otto Ave., and Shepard Road – the website below has a map: https://www.greatrivergreening.org/events/victoria-park/
NOTE: In addition to informing me that you are participating, individual adult registration is required on the Great River Greening website above as well.
Please check the box for “MN Rovers” on the registration form to help track our group headcount.
Snacks will be provided throughout the morning and a late lunch will be served at 12:30 pm! More logistics will be sent about a week prior to the event, including final itinerary and parking information. They did not know the specific species of trees that will be planted at this point, however, they will be native and appropriate for the area. There will be a variety of sizes, so teams of volunteers will be needed to plant the larger trees. They will have trained supervisors to properly dig and plant trees.
