A sandy beach, 5 interconnected lakes for paddling (canoe, paddleboard and kayak rental available), 18 miles of hiking and 17 miles of of mountain bike trails through pine, aspen and birch, road biking in the park and on the nearby paved Mesabi Trail. We have Sites 51, 52, and 53 reserved in the Side Lake Campground. Set up anytime after 4pm on Friday. We will have a potluck picnic on Saturday night, but the rest of your meals and snacks are on your own.
There will be room for a minimum of 9 and a maximum of 12, depending on the tenting situation (each site has room for a maximum of 3 small backpacking tents or 2 regular tents). http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/state_parks/mccarthy_beach/index.html
