Paddling the Mississippi from the Source

Description:

Join us on a week-long adventure, paddling and camping down the Mississippi River starting at Lake Itasca. We will camp Sunday night at Itasca SP and then paddle and camp along the Mississippi until we get just past the Northernmost point. We will camp the last night at Lake Bemidji State Park. This is not a beginner trip because of shallow water, dams, portaging and class 1 rapids. You do need to have prior paddling experience, and you will be responsible for your own food. Estimated cost: $25 + gas & food. Deposit: $25. Max trip size: 6.
