Cross-Country Ski & Snowshoe

Fri - MonFeb 12 - Feb 152010
  • Estimated Cost: $150
  • Deposit: $75
  • Max Trip Size: 12 people
Description:

We have rustic cabins at Tettegouche State Park for Presidents Day Weekend and Valentines Day – two cabins, a total of 12 people. Leave Friday Morning, return Monday evening. You can read about Tettegouche Camp (click on link, see page 2): It’s really a cool place! Old wood cabins, propane heated to 40 degrees, wood stove to bring up temp to comfy level. Cook stove, but no running water – yet, there is a heated shower/toilet building on the property. There is also a log building “lodge” used for common space/gathering. The hike in is a hilly one and one-half mile hike. Depending on snow conditions – you can ski in, snowshoe in, or usually hike on packed snow. We will haul in gear in backpacks and small sleds. Ski trails are not for beginners. The cabins are right on the ski trail. There is great x-country skiing up there-and/or great snowshoeing! My FIRST PRIORITY will be for people WHO HAVE NEVER BEEN THERE. Exceptions will be made for 1) two people who are willing to take care of menu planning and shopping and 2) drivers. Looking for 4 more non-snoring people, and 6 people who can sleep in a room with people who might snore. Meet at REI – Roseville at 8:00 a.m., returning 6:00 p.m. Estimated cost: $150, including transportation. Deposit: $75. Max trip size: 12.
