Mississippi River Earth Day Clean-up — TBD – Probably East River Flats – Minneapolis, MN

Did you know that the only gorge along the Mississippi River is the stretch from downtown Minneapolis to downtown St. Paul?

Help to keep it beautiful! Celebrate Earth Day by participating in a River Gorge Earth Day Cleanup sponsored by Minneapolis Parks and Rec.

We have our own section of river, so we will need lots of people.  In the past, we have been assigned the east side of the river from SE Washington Ave to Franklin Ave, known as Mississippi Flats Park aka East River Flats.  I will confirm the location to those that sign-up.  Plan for 9:15 am for sign-in and prep – noon or later (if we lunch or hike).

We’ll provide garbage bags and gloves, bring your own gloves if you choose. Wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. Bring water and a snack, if desired.

This Rovers day trip is family-friendly and open to non-members (waiver required). For those who are interested after the clean-up, perhaps lunch or a hike.
