A fun Labor Day weekend trip to the BWCA. Going to a lake that has larger campsites (lots of tent space). Easy going in (only about two lakes)-but don’t wear your stiletto heels easy. Set up for a few days at one camp and relax. Then, the area is really pretty and lots of exploring to more lakes and fishing.
We have been doing BW trips as a couple, on our own, for several years and would like to go as a group this time. We have all the gear, packs, stoves, etc. We have invented an easy bear rig hanging pulley system-only hang once and all set for rest of trip, saving more trees and branches! However, if you have things you want to bring or use too, let’s discuss best options. We cook super-healthy preservative / chemical / dairy free food (not vegetarian, but options, sometimes gluten free too). There may be some brandy sipping around the campfire, and maybe some don’t go to bed before 11:00 p.m.
Enter at Mudro Lake Wednesday (possible option to enter on Thursday), exit Sunday or Monday, hopefully staying on Fourtown Lake. Click here to see map – then zoom into entry point 23, move map north to see Fourtown Lake, explore the area around!
Estimated cost: $85. Deposit: $50. Max trip size: 9.
