This is part of our series of monthly events geared towards the younger crowd in Rovers to give them a leg up in meeting each other and becoming a more integral and active part of the whole Rovers community and we welcome anybody who wants to join us. Both member and non-members are welcome to come, so please, invite your friends and show them how much fun we have in our club!
Meet at 5.30 p.m. on the east shore of Lake of the Isles just north of the channel that connects to Lake Calhoun. It’s calm there for beginners even on a windy day and it’s pretty too! After some fun in and on the water we’ll have a BBQ and potluck. If you don’t want to SUP you can either just come to socialize and eat or bring a boat. For list of places where you can rent boards and boats by the hour or the day click here. (If you are already a member you can lend a Rovers craft from the cage for free, just remember to plan ahead so a cage person has time to meet you, usually on a Tuesday evening.)
Don’t worry if you haven’t done this before, we can spot and help each other to get newbies started and a little bit of comedy is always welcome.
I’ll bring the grill and charcoal so bring your own meat/veggies and a side to share. If your last name starts with A-E bring dessert, F-L chips & dips, M-R veggies or fruit , S-Z salad. Don’ t forget to bring a plate and silverware.
Please RSVP so I know how much charcoal to bring! Make sure to bring a PFD!
Estimated cost: $ for board rental if you need one.
