Help others experience the joy of winter by volunteering at the 17th Annual Winter Trails Day at Fort Snelling State Park! Minnesota Rovers will once again assist REI and Fort Snelling staff with free activities that showcase how much fun winter can be! In the past, we’ve been crucial in helping visitors with snowshoes. Other activities will include geocaching, naturalist-led hikes, cold weather camping information, and skijoring & dogsledding information. After you’re done helping, enter a sweepstakes to win a new pair of snowshoes, enjoy a big bonfire, sip hot cocoa and enjoy winter!
If there is interest, we’ll hike or snowshoe after the event is over. Snowshoers can go anywhere in park except on groomed trails and there are 9 miles of packed trails for hiking.
The event will run from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., but you may volunteer for just part of that time. If you can help, please contact Stacey for more details. Estimated cost: $0.
