Paddling and Folk Music Festival

Sat - SunJul 6 - Jul 72013
  • Estimated Cost: $20
  • Max Trip Size: 8 people
Description:

Join me for a day of paddling followed by the first Yellow River Folk Music Festival at Fort Folle Avoine in Danbury, WI. For more info visit www.theforts.org.

We will put in at Jeffries Landing on Big Yellow Lake and paddle around the Lake through the channel to Little Yellow Lake. After a stop for lunch we will paddle back. I am going to check out the possibility of paddling through Little Yellow down the river to get to the the music festival by boat. After the music festival we can relax around a bonfire followed by camping at my place.

Bring your camping gear and I will provide breakfast on Sunday morning. For anyone interested we could do another short paddle on Sunday before you head home. I am also right off the Gandy Dancer Bike Trail if anyone would prefer to bike Saturday morning.

Beginners and families are welcome. Kayak rentals are available in Danbury. If you want to make a longer weekend out of it, contact me- there’s a lot going on given it’s a long holiday weekend- parades, a 5K, fireworks, music etc.

Estimated cost: $20 for the festival ticket and food costs. Deposit: $0. Max trip size: 8 or so.

Sponsoring organization: Members from Anytime Fitness will be joining us for the paddle
