Beginner Winter Camping — Wild River State Park, MN

Category: Winter Camping, Other Winter Activities

Sat - SunDec 8 - Dec 92018
  • Estimated Cost: $20
  • Max Trip Size: 6 people
Description:

Join us for beginner winter camping at Wild River State Park, 50 miles North of the Cities.  We will camp in the car campground so you can bring extra gear/clothing if you think you will need it to spend your first winter night out comfortably.  The Rovers Equipment locker has 2 winter camping sleeping bags and other gear you can check out. Talk to one of the Equipment directors to check equipment out for this Rovers trip.

I can discuss equipment and clothing with you.  My main concern is foot comfort snowmobile type boots are a must – borrow if you have to from friends or family.

We will ski, snowshoe or walk on the trails depending on snow conditions.  I will supply the evening supper/dessert.

$20 cost for campsite, wood, food, etc.  We will discuss leaving times later, you can even show up just for supper and the first – the whole point is to learn to camp out for an evening.

Experienced winter campers are welcome as well.  Call me at 651-774-2640 if you are interested.

Coordinator(s):
Basil L.
