Winter Camping in BWCA — Brule Lake, MN

Category: Cross Country Skiing, Snowshoeing / Hiking, Winter Camping

Thu - MonJan 17 - Jan 212019
  • Estimated Cost: $25
  • Max Trip Size: 6 people
Description:

We will be leaving early on Thursday 1/17 and meet at Brule Lake in the BWCA. We will then travel 7 miles north past Lily Lake, Mulligan Lake, Wanihigan Lake, Winchell Lake, and then west to Pup Lake, and northeast to Trump Lake. Yes there is a Trump Lake in the BWCA. We can express our discontent appropriately while we are there.

We will then spend 4 nights camping there. We will do day trips from there to nearby lakes in the area enjoying the stars and possible northern lights at night.

We will be pulling our gear in on sleds and traveling with snowshoes or skis.

If you are new to extreme winter camping, we can plan a practice trip before hand to get you ready. Ideally you should have some experience before signing up for this trip.

Coordinator(s):
Pat E.
