Border Route Trail East end area maintenance. Day hiking and maintenance sweep — Cook County off Arrowhead Trail road at Otter Lake, MN

Description:

A joint trip with the Border Route Trails Association a 501C3 non profit group.  Your trip costs could be tax deductible.  www.borderroutetrail.org

Annual spring maintenance on the eastern 12 miles of the Border Route trail.  We will remove dead falls with chain saws and brush mowers to prepare the trail for this season.   Equipment operators and multiple assistants required.  This area includes the famous 270 degree overlook and the junction with the Superior Hiking Trail as well as scenic bridges and overlooks.  A portion of the area received heavy maintenance last fall.

Car pooling from the Twin Cities leaving Friday.   Car camping at Otter Lake trail head on Otter Lake Road east of the Arrowhead Trail, Cook County MN.    Bring tent, pad, sleeping bag  for 30 to 70 degree weather and equipment for all day hiking in the woods including rain gear.

It is the responsibility of both the trip coordinators and the participants to discover and share information related to each others’ experience and capabilities regarding trip-related activities and responsibilities.

It is also club policy that waiver forms be signed by all people participating in Rover events.
