- Max Trip Size: 15 people
Join me for a moderately paced 6-mile hike from Fort Snelling State Park to Mni Owe Sni (spring) and then around Picnic Island. You can drop our halfway if you want to. The trails will be a mix of blacktop, grass and gravel trails. It will also be hilly and a little rugged in places.
Meet “IN” the Thomas C. Savage Visitor Center, which is 2 miles into the park at the end of the road. Please allow enough time for the slow drive all the way into the park.
To get there put “Thomas C. Savage Visitor Center, Fort Snelling State Trail, St Paul, MN 55111” into Google maps, use this link or use the directions: from Highway 5 north take Post Road opposite the airport and then Snelling Lake Road into the park and all the way to the end.
- Non-Rover members need to sign online liability waiver below.
- New Rover members welcome.
- Dogs with well-behaved owners are welcome.
- Vehicle permits are required to enter the park, and there is an option to get one for free from some libraries.
Send me an email if you are planning to come so I can look out for you, or contact me if you have any questions.
