Description:

Our Halloween celebration and outdoor get away weekend is back at Osprey Wilds Environmental Learning Center outside of Sandstone, MN about 90 miles north of Minneapolis!

Osprey is close to the Munger Trail for biking, and Banning State Park for hiking and climbing. Osprey also has hiking trails on its property.

There are several options for paddling as well, including Grindstone Lake which Osprey sits on, as well as a flatware float on a section of the Kettle River and a couple of other nearby lakes.

We have rented a canoe again this year for people to use on Grindstone Lake for Saturday.

Saturday evening we will have our Halloween party in the Crosby Lodge party room with prizes for best costume and pumpkin carving.

The pumpkins will be available to carve starting Friday and through Saturday late afternoon. If you have games or puzzles you’d like to share, bring them along to use throughout the weekend.

We will staying at  Crosby Lodge, which has dorm-style rooms with their own bathrooms. Rooms hold 4 people, all on bottom bunks. We have set aside a few two person rooms on a first-come first served basis. The cost per person for a 2-person room is $250 per person for the weekend. There will be room designations by gender, light sleepers, snorers etc.

Osprey Wilds will provide five meals from Friday dinner through Sunday breakfast in their dining hall, which is steps from our lodge. We do not have the option to bring in our own meals, but their kitchen staff provides delicious scratch-cooked meals for visiting groups prepared fresh to satisfy every palate. Each meal is served cafeteria style and offers a variety of exceptional cuisine options with a focus on locally grown or organic items.

Lodge check-in time is Friday at 3 pm but the grounds are open to the public, so you have the option of coming early to enjoy the lake and trails. On Sunday your gear needs to be out of the lodge by 11am but feel free to spend the afternoon outside taking in the Fall colors. We will have outdoor Rover activities planned for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
