Skiing, Snowshoeing — Wild River State Park, MN

Trip Full Wait List OpenCategory: Cross Country Skiing, Snowshoeing / Hiking, Downhill Skiing

Fri - SunFeb 21 - Feb 232020
  • Estimated Cost: $39
  • Deposit: $15
  • Max Trip Size: 8 people
Description:
I have reserved two camper cabins at Wild River State Park. I am planning on four people per cabin, so everyone will have their own bed. The cabins have electric heat. From my understanding, water should be available but we can choose to bring our own.
Meals
We can bring our own small appliances (coffee pot, crock pot) for use indoors, but any open flame cooking must be done outside. We can also plan to go out for dinner one night (maybe Friday night) in nearby North Branch or Taylors Falls. We can also plan a pot luck (maybe Saturday night) in the Trail Center.

Activities
– Within the park, we can cross-country ski or snowshoe trails. Equipment rentals should be available at the Trail Center.
– Downhill skiing is at nearby Wild Mountain. We should plan to play games in the cabins.
– Card games like Hearts or board games should be fun.
– Geocaching (see info on park home page)
What’s Nearby – Almelund, MN
If you haven’t been to Almelund Mercantile store in nearby Almelund, it is worth a visit. Coffee, ice cream, antiques, and specialty foods and gifts. Also, Rod’s Country Corner has stuff if you forget anything.
Cost
$15 nonrefundable deposit due to hold your spot. $39.25 total cost for 2 nights in a camper cabin (4 peoople per cabin). Final payment due Jan. 31, 2020.
