Description:

Join us for the summer solstice at Mystical Horizons (Stonehenge of the prairie) in north central North Dakota Turtle Mountain.  We can spend days hiking, biking, horseback riding and paddling.  A limited number of boat rentals are available at the park.  The beautiful International Peace Garden is nearby. Take a selfie at the geographical center of North America.  We will be camping at Lake Metigoshe State Park at North Hill primitive campsite.  This is not a group campsite and there’s a limit of one tent per site.  The park is approximately 500 miles away on the North Dakota/Canadian border, and last light on the solstice is at 10:30 p.m.

Estimated cost  of ~ $125 which covers campsite, park entrance fee, firewood and one group dinner.  Cost does not include transportation or food. Deposit of $15 via PayPal to secure your spot.  You must have a current membership to register for this trip.
Bring all your own gear (packing list) and food.  A group cookout will be held one night. Equipment can be borrowed from the gear locker by contacting [email protected] directly.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Membership is required on overnight trips (except for Extravaganza and Border Route Trail work trips).

It is the responsibility of both the trip coordinators and the participants to discover and share information related to each others’ experience and capabilities regarding trip-related activities and responsibilities.

It is also club policy that waiver forms be signed by all people participating in Rover events.
