We will ski the outer trails at Elm Creek Park starting at the parking lot next to the swimming pond. The start time is 11Am.
To get to this parking lot enter the main park entrance at the Elm Creek Blvd exit from Highway 610. Drive past the chalet, going about 3/4 miles until the first left which leads to the parking lot by the swim pond. There is a ski trail head near the ski shuttle bus stop at this parking lot which is where we will meet up. We will stay on groomed trails, starting by skiing back past the chalet, and then connecting along the south end of the park to some outer trails on the west and north side.
Our route will loop north and then back east, ending at the starting point. I am bringing classic skis and expect to have a moderate pace. A Three Rivers Park District ski pass is required, which is $10 if you don’t have an annual pass. I typically carry some water but not much more as only several hours will be required to ski the route.
The Three Rivers Park District web site has a posting for snow conditions. We can get some lunch nearby in Maple Grove afterwards.
