Description:

This is a special opportunity for Rovers to access 3 spots in a Wilderness First Aid class on April 22 and 23. The class was offered in the Inland Sea Kayakers Club and 3 spots went unfilled, so the instructor, Tom O’Neal, who has offered Wilderness First Aid classes for Rovers, is offering those spots for Rovers. You must be able to attend both days.

Wilderness First Aid is a 16 hour class which covers First Aid in situations in which you may be more than an hour from assistance. This requires more skills, more assessment and decision making, and not only addressing the immediate problem, but sometimes caring for the person(s) until help arrives or until they are able to be evacuated. There is a lot of practice of skills in assessment, decision making, and providing treatment. The class is very useful for people who engage in camping in remote places.

Because Rovers like for members to get this certification, there is an education reimbursement of $50 to people who complete this class and request it.

Rover membership required. Please contact me to sign up.

Coordinator(s):
Fran L.
