Backpacking — SHT – Oberg and Mystery mountains, MN

Description:

Please join me for a short backpacking trip to Oberg, Moose, and Mystery mountains on the Superior Hiking Trail, beginning on Oct 16. For this trip the daily mileage is low but there is significant climbing.

With two cars, we will meet at the Ski Hill Rd trailhead at about 2 pm on Mon, Oct 16 and then shuttle to the Sawbill Hill trailhead to begin hiking northbound.

Oct 16 hike 1.6 mi to camp at Springdale Creek
Oct 17 hike 7.1 miles (including the Oberg Mountain loop) to the W. Rollins campsite
Oct 18 hike 5 miles climbing Moose and Mystery mountains to the Ski Hill Rd trailhead and return home

If there are not enough cars we can either hire a shuttle or change the route to an out and back. Contact me to sign up.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Membership is required on overnight trips (except for Extravaganza and Border Route Trail work trips).

It is the responsibility of both the trip coordinators and the participants to discover and share information related to each others’ experience and capabilities regarding trip-related activities and responsibilities.

It is also club policy that waiver forms be signed by all people participating in Rover events.
