Cycle Touring — La Crosse, WI

Category: Bicycling

Fri - SunJun 7 - Jun 92024
  • Estimated Cost: $30
  • Deposit: $30
  • Max Trip Size: 8 people
Description:

The region southeast of La Crosse, WI has a topography that offers incredibly scenic views from lightly traveled roads, making ideal bicycle touring. The downhills are screaming spectacular. In this self contained tour we will carry all of our gear through rural Wisconsin, staying overnight at established campgrounds. There is no support vehicle. We will dine at restaurants when possible but to save time have breakfasts at the campgrounds.

On Friday, we will park our cars near the police station in the Village of Coon Valley, WI and then bike about 30 miles to Esofea County Park. On Saturday we bike about 40 mi to the Goose Island Campground along the Mississippi. On Sunday we bike the remaining 30 mi back to Coon Valley and return home. A $30 deposit should cover most of the campground costs. A map is shown in the attached link.

Coordinator(s):
