Join me for a leisurely paddle with your kayak or paddle board at Cedar Lake Park, Minneapolis. By starting early we avoid the crowds and have time in the afternoon and evening for other activities on a beautiful sunny day.
We will meet at Cedar Lake Point Beach on the west side of Cedar Lake in Minneapolis. Bring your own kayak or paddle board, snacks or lunch, water, sunblock, hat, etc. PFD required. You can arrange to borrow a kayak from the gear locker. There is a small pay parking lot or you can park on a nearby residential street. Plan to help others in our group with loading and unloading our watercraft. I would like to get on the lake right away so please be prompt.
No toilet at the put-in but there is sometimes a porta potty at the nearby swimming beach.
ADDRESS: 2101 Cedar Lake Parkway – (Cedar Lake Point Beach), Minneapolis
Plan on 2-3 hours or so of leisurely paddling as we explore Cedar Lake, Brownie Lake, and Lake of Isles. I believe the canal opened up last year. Water may be cold. It’s only May!
