Join us for a 6 day, 5 night backpacking trip plus additional first day for travel, permits, and relaxing at Presque Isle campground. We will have a planning meeting prior to the trip to discuss food, gear, logistics, etc. The trip starts along Lake Superior and becomes slightly more rugged as we hike to the interior of the park on day 3. A second trip is posted for the same time coordinated by Deb. We will be at the same campground on 9/9 and 9/11. No pets, please.
Our itinerary is as follows:
9/7 drive from Twin Cities stay at Presque Isle
9/8 Presque Isle to carp river site LS-8 7.6 miles
9/9 LS-8 to LS-18 via Lake Superior trail 9.5 m
9/10 LS-18 to GP-1 6 miles
9/11 GP-1 to ML-2 6 miles
9/12 ML-2 to LS-4 (11 miles or 7.1 miles, different routes)
ML-4 to start 6.3 miles and return to Twin Cities
