You are invited on a 30-mile bike loop through some nice woods and along the Minnesota River on both sides.
We will meet at the Bloomington Ferry Unit of the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge parking lot (44°47’59.0″N 93°23’13.3″W) which is LOCATED HERE . Please be ready to ride at 9:20. (the timing is so we will be past Valley Fair before they open!)
We will ride the Minnesota Valley State Trail, going past Valley Fair, “The Landing” (formerly Murphy’s Landing), and the ruins of an old brewery (sorry, no beer) in Shakopee. Then we cross over the Minnesota River to Chaska where we get on the Minnesota River Bluffs LRT Regional Trail. From there we bike Anderson Lakes Parkway and work our way back to the start.
A section of this ride is on crushed rock bike trail, instead of pavement. But most of the ride is on pavement.
We will stop at the brewery ruins to read the sign and at Lake Riley for a snack break. Other stops depend upon group interest. Snacks and water are recommended.
There are no bathrooms at the meeting place but there will be bathrooms after a few miles.
Helmets required. Non-Rover members are welcome and should submit the online liability waiver below. Please send me a text or email if you plan to come. I hope to see you there!
