- Max Trip Size: 8 people
Please join us on a challenging day hike in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. The Angleworm Trail is a 13-mile, rugged loop trail known for its beauty and adventure. Depending upon current conditions, there may be a wet crossing of a beaver dam.
We are limiting the group to 8 people. This hike is appropriate for people who will have done a 9-10 mile hike within a few weeks before the hike, so they can handle this length. This hike is not for beginners or even intermediate hikers. The coordinators approve of each participant to make sure we have a capable group. There is no escape hatch along this hike! Hikers should bring at least 2 water bottles and lunch, plus additional snacks. We will likely be out for 7 hours or more, including breaks.
A separate Rovers camping trip will be posted to stay at the nearby Fenske campground for Friday night through Monday. We have reserved 2 adjacent campsites that can accommodate about 10 people. Hikers on this hike will get priority for those camping slots. More about that later. There is also a group camping trip to Bearhead Lake State Park, the same weekend, located 34 miles south of the hike. You can also find lodging on your own.
