- Max Trip Size: 10 people
This trip is focused on getting new to novice climbers an opportunity to climb real rocks.
I’ll be coming from the Extravaganza event at Wild River and will aim to get there around 10am. I’ll have to break camp & pack up so arrival time is a but fungible. Participants do not need to arrive that early and folks that plan to go on some other Extravaganza event in the morning are welcome to show up later in the day but no later than 2pm to allow enough time to get some climbing in. I hope to be all set up and have people climbing by noon.
You do not need to be part of the Extravaganza to attend. You don not need to be a Rover member to attend, however, non-members must complete the Rover waiver by clicking on the orange “waiver” button on this page. I will be automatically notified once you’ve completed the waver.
We want each person to have the opportunity to climb a few times. Rovers will provide all the gear you’ll need and you’ll be REQUIRED to wear a helmet while climbing or belaying.
So, what I require from you is 1) an email stating your intent to attend 2) approximate time you’ll arrive 3) any experience (and gear) you may have and, most importantly 4) YOUR CELL PHONE NUMBER.
We’ll only welcome folks who have “signed up” by emailing me. Deadline for sign ups is Tuesday June 3rd. Everyone who signs up will get an email on the 4th or 5th with a few more details.
You’ll want to wear clothes that allow full mobility (think foot in mouth) and can take a few scuffs. You’ll also need to bring a water bottle (refillable in the parking lot just a short way from climbing area) and some finger food to munch on whilst you watch your fellow newbs climb. You’ll also need to have a MN Park Pass to park in the lot but you can park in ‘downtown’ Taylors Falls and walk about 2 blocks from there.
As always we have two priorities: 1) that you stay safe and unharmed & 2) you have some fun.
