UPDATED CHANGES DUE TO EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING:
- No dogs on this hike
- Everyone must carry water to drink
- Bring electrolytes in some form. It can be salty food or an electrolyte drink
- Bring an extra water bottle for getting your shirt or head wet. I would suggest you come with a shirt you can take off and douse and then put back on. For women, this means having a jog bra or tank top underneath.
Please join me for a moderately fast-paced hike (17-19 minutes per mile, 3.2-3.5 mph) at Lebanon Hills Regional Park. You have a choice of doing 6 or 9 miles (distances are approximate), and nearly all of it will be on natural trails. We will start with a 6-mile loop in the main section (east) of the park and return to our cars. Then there will be an optional 3-mile loop in the west section of the park after a break. Meet at the SW corner of the Jensen Lake parking lot. Here is the starting location
The forecast is for high temps that day. Please bring water for either distance. Those doing the longer length will probably also want to bring snacks.
I will be coordinating this and other hikes at a medium-fast speed. Please join us if you are interested in a medium-fast hike. If you find that you aren’t keeping up with the group, please be willing to notify me and continue the hike on your own so that the group can hike at this pace.
Non-Rovers are welcome if they submit the online liability waiver below.
Please send me an email or text if you plan to attend, so I can let you know if there are any last-minute changes.
See you on the trails!
