Join me for a 4.5 mile circle hike through Reservoir Woods and Villa Park. This is a hilly area, as Reservoir Woods is one of the highest points in the area. We’ll be hiking on city streets (a little), paved path (a little more) but mostly on wooded trails. If the temps are in the mid-30s or below the paths will be hard; above that and it they may be muddy in spots. Wear appropriate footwear.
If we get surprised with snow, bring your snow shoes and I’ll shorten the hike.
We’ll be hiking through oak savannah, other hardwoods and pine groves, along a cemetery, prairie, lake and marsh. And, of course, the reservoir. Lots of variety here!
We’ll be hiking at a 3-mile-an-hour pace, about a 20 minute mile. The first part, about a mile, is mostly uphill while the rest is mostly downhill or flat. There is some undulation on the trails.
Meet at the B Dale Club; one block south of County Road B on Dale St. N in Roseville. Park in the back of the lot near the baseball field.
The B Dale Club opens at noon for anyone who is interested in some refreshment, or what I call an “earned beer”.
Please text or email me if you plan on joining, so that I can communicate if anything changes. Non-members welcome and you must complete the waiver which is below.
