Backpacking on the Superior Hiking Trail

Thu - SunMay 12 - May 152011
  • Estimated Cost: $40
  • Deposit: $30
  • Max Trip Size: 6 people
Description:

Join me for a backpacking trip on the Superior Hiking Trail while it is still cool and the bugs won’t know (or won’t care) that we are there. I plan on doing the section from Britton Peak to Caribou Trail. About 19 miles. (This may change if we get a lot of rain close to the time of the trip.) We will leave by 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, start hiking on Friday and return late afternoon/early evening on Sunday. This is not a beginner trip, so you need to have some backpacking experience and you will be responsible for your own food. For the most part we just adding boiling water to the food and maybe a little simmering. It may be necessary to share a tent with someone, so you have to be willing to do that

If someone wants to be a co-coordinator and/or wants to learn how to coordinate a trip like this let me know. Rover membership is required. Estimated cost: $40. Deposit: $30. Max trip size: 6.
