Bayfield Peninsula Camp/Kayak/Hike

Description:

Bring your tent and camp at a remote family property on Wisconsin’s North Coast. Camp on the beach, right on shores of Lake Superior or up in the woods. Bring your kayak, and paddle out to the Apostle Islands (Oak is around 2 miles away), canoe along the shore, hike the woods or on the beach, drive over to Meyer’s beach and hike or kayak to the sea caves. Enjoy day hikes on the peninsula, just for the pleasure of hiking or to see some of the waterfalls hidden away in the area. Visit Bayfield, hike the many day hikes on the peninsula. Or, just hang out.

Another activity option: The Superior Vistas Bike Tour – a supported bike ride thru the Bayfield Peninsula that takes place on June 25. Routes vary from 13 to 100 miles. The costs of the bike ride are each person’s own responsibility. Registration costs $20 if postmarked by May 9; $25 if postmarked by June 13; or $30 after. It is about a 30-minute or so drive from the cabin to the registration/ check-in area in Washburn.

Space available for 2 or 3 iniduals inside the 2 room cabin. Cost includes $5 to cover expenses for the cabin, Saturday and Sunday breakfasts; Saturday dinner. Lunches are on your own. Estimated cost: $25. Deposit: $20. Max trip size: 15.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Membership is required on overnight trips (except for Extravaganza and Border Route Trail work trips).

It is the responsibility of both the trip coordinators and the participants to discover and share information related to each others’ experience and capabilities regarding trip-related activities and responsibilities.

It is also club policy that waiver forms be signed by all people participating in Rover events.
