Becoming an Outdoor Adventurer with the Minnesota Rovers — Midwest Mountaineering, MN

Category: Hiking, Bicycling, Summer Trips, Camping, Paddling, Climbing

Mon, 1:15amApr 272015
Description:

This will be at the Midwest Mountaineering Outdoor Adventure Expo this Sunday, April 26th @ 3:30pm at the Expedition Stage (below the camping department)

Presented by Rudi (Randy) Hargesheimer

Come hear stories from Rudi’s perspective about his early outdoor development which was largely inspired by and done with friends in the Minnesota Rovers Outdoors Club. Back in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s much fun was had on Rovers trips all over the world: climbing, bicycling, backpacking, caving, paddling and adventuring. It was all done on the cheap and all done with great stories to be told. This show was a hit as one of last year’s 60th Anniversary of Minnesota Rovers sequence of retro-shows shown to current Rovers members. Minnesota Rovers is still going strong! Members share expenses and camaraderie on great trips, both locally and around the world. (Visit their booth at the expo!)

Rudi is a manager at Midwest Mountaineering and owner of Northshorephotoart.com. Way back in the 70’s, he served a stint as a “University of” Minnesota Rovers President. (The current club is no longer limited to or affiliated with the University. Everyone is welcome to join the fun!)
