Beginner Winter Camping

Sat - SunDec 14 - Dec 152013
  • Estimated Cost: $20
Description:

Beginner winter car camping at a state park within 100 miles north of the cities, location undecided at this time. Leave the cities on Saturday and return Sunday. This will be a good opportunity to learn about winter camping by camping in the regular car campgrounds which will allow you to bring as much gear/sleeping bags as you choose, to spending your first winter night out comfortably. I will help you questions about clothing/equipment choices, the Rover cage has camping gear and a couple of winter bags. Snowmobile type boots are required, borrow if you have too.

I’m supplying supper and Dutch oven desert, you bring your lunches and breakfast. We will walk, snowshoe, or ski the trails if we have enough snow. If you choose to ski, buy you ski pass in the cities ahead of time. You may choose to drive to the park any time you wish, the important thing for you is to see how spending the night out in the winter works for you. Some of us will leave Saturday morning and hike trails.

Estimated cost: $20.
