Beginner Winter Camping

Sat - SunDec 11 - Dec 122010
  • Estimated Cost: $25
Description:

Join us for a beginner winter camping trip to a state or county park north of the cities. We will be camping in the regular car camp ground or a group camp site so you will be able to bring extra clothing and camping gear along. The purpose is to have as much as you need to you spend your first winter camping night out comfortably.

Check with the cage person, they have a couple of winter bags that can be signed out. Also I can help you with your clothing and equipment choices, don’t buy any new gear, use what you have and bring extra things, think in terms of layers of clothing covered by a windproof outer layer (snowmobile boots are required, borrow if you have too).

If there is decent snow, you will be able to ski park trails, if not we can hike. We will leave from REI Roseville Saturday morning, time not determined yet, however you may drive up later and just do the meal and overnight campout if that fits your schedule. Group supper Saturday night with Dutch oven cake desert. Estimated cost: $25. Deposit: None. Max trip size: No limit.
