Bicycling on the Munger State Trail: The Fire Ride

Sat - SunOct 9 - Oct 102010
  • Estimated Cost: $55
  • Deposit: $15
  • Max Trip Size: 12 people
Description:

We will leave at 9:00 a.m. Saturday for the Audubon Center in the North Woods in Sandstone, which is having an open house with free use of the high-ropes course and climbing wall plus an arts fair, raptor demonstrations and voyageur canoe rides. There’s a chili lunch there, $5. Later in the afternoon, we can hike in Banning State Park or ride part of the Munger Trail. We will spend the night in dorm rooms at the center. Sunday we will split into two groups and ride the 30 miles between Hinckley and Moose Lake (or some people can ride 60 miles), and many of us will want to visit the fire museums in each city. You will be on your own for Saturday dinner (we will eat in a local cafe) and Sunday lunch. Estimated cost: $55. Deposit: $15. Max trip size: 12.
