Let’s ride the Lake Wobegan Trail together. All bikes and fitness levels are welcome. We will meet at 9 am at the trail head at Rivers Edge Park at Waite Park, MN (about 70 miles NW of St Paul). Lets ride share if we can.
Here is the link the Wobegan Trail website, including trail maps, trailhead info, etc: https://lakewobegontrail.com/
Depending on the interest of the riders, we could ride in one group or multiple groups/speeds. For example:
- Group 1 from Rivers Edge Park at Waite Park to Avon (30 Miles Roundtrip) 10-12 mph pace
- Group 2 from Rivers Edge Park at Waite Park to Melrose (67 Miles Roundtrip) faster pace
The Lake Wobegon Regional Trail is 65 miles long, 10 feet wide and paved end to end with excellent facilities at the trailheads (water, restrooms, air). Church steeples, colleges, cows, lakes and the mythical city of Lake Wobegon greet you on the Lake Wobegon Trail as it passes through the state’s leading dairy county, seven communities, two colleges, two monasteries, lakes and the boyhood home of Nobel Prize winner Sinclair Lewis.
Afterwards, we can meet for lunch at one of the many restaurants in Waite Park (like Anton’s Restaurant or El Loro Mexican Restaurant or elsewhere if someone has a recommendation).
