Bikepacking — Coon Fork County Park, Augusta, WI

Category: Bicycling, Camping

Mon - WedSep 18 - Sep 202023
  • Estimated Cost: $20
  • Max Trip Size: 6 people
Description:

This is a 65 mile dirt and gravel route through Eau Claire County Forest and Clark County Forest near Augusta, Wisconsin. It should be a very pretty ride. The first day of riding will be about 45 mi on Tues, Sept 19. To get an early start we will camp at the Coon Fork County Park on the evening of Mon, Sept 18. This campground is about a 2 hr drive from St. Paul. On Tues, Sept 19 we can camp at the Rock Dam County park, though there is an option to disperse camp to make the day’s ride a bit shorter. We will finish on Wed, Sept 20 with about 20 mi and return home. Food will be a mix of restaurants, bars, and carried food. There is no support vehicle.

The loop is shown in this map . Though it could be done with 35 mm tires, 2 in or wider tires would likely be much more comfortable. There is more information here.
