Birding Walk at Bass Ponds

Thu, 5:00amJun 22011
Description:

A casual, low key, cooperative event to view and talk about birds. Meet at Bass Ponds at 6:00 p.m. Wear comfortable clothing and boots or shoes for hiking on gravel and paved trails; there may also be a little dirt/mud. Try not to wear white or brights, one bird may try to win you but others may be repulsed. Bring binoculars if you have them, a smile for looks, and a friendly attitude.

Bass Ponds is just SE of the Mall of America. At the light on 24th Avenue (extension of Old Shakopee Rd) and 86th Street, turn east a block and then go straight onto the one lane road for about 70 yards to the parking area. Membership in Rovers is not required and beginner birders are welcome. Estimated cost: $0. Max trip size: Unlimited.
