Work off your Thanksgiving Day indulgences with a hike at Lake Maria State Park. Lake Maria is a beautiful “Big Woods” state park dotted with numerous lakes and ponds near Monticello, about an hour west of the Twin Cities.
Meet at the Trail Center at 10:00 a.m. to plan which of the park’s 14 miles of trails we’d like to hike. Bring a trail lunch (perfect way to enjoy those turkey leftovers!), water, and appropriate clothing. We’ll hike until mid-afternoon, or whenever people want to stop. If there’s enough snow, we’ll ski and snowshoe instead. You don’t need to be a Rover to enjoy our day trips, so bring a friend! Dogs on 6 foot leashes also welcome.
Carpooling encouraged. See this Google doc to arrange your own ride. Contact Alison if you have difficulty accessing the Google Doc.
