Breakfast and Hike at Afton State Park

How about loading up a Sunday morning with a hearty breakfast then burning off the calories with a 7-mile hike at Afton State Park to view fall colors? Meet at 9:00 a.m. at the Sail Away Cafe in Afton for breakfast. Carpool (or not) to Afton State Park at 10:15 a.m. Meet at the visitor center. Start hiking at 10:30 a.m. and end hiking at roughly 2-2:30 p.m. A shorter loop of about 3.5 miles is possible. Post-hike ice cream social at Selma’s Ice Cream Parlour. This activity is open to non-members. Friendly dogs are allowed. Water, snack, lunch (if you burned off your breakfast calories or skipped breakfast), hiking boots recommended, $5 vehicle fee or annual pass if you’re driving your vehicle into the park, breakfast/ice cream money (optional).

Estimated cost: $0-$5 + breakfast/ice cream option. Deposit: $0. Max trip size: none.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Membership is required on overnight trips (except for Extravaganza and Border Route Trail work trips).

It is the responsibility of both the trip coordinators and the participants to discover and share information related to each others’ experience and capabilities regarding trip-related activities and responsibilities.

It is also club policy that waiver forms be signed by all people participating in Rover events.
