BWCA Winter Camping — Ely area, Minnesota

Category: Winter Trips, Winter Camping

Sun - TueFeb 19 - Feb 212017
  • Estimated Cost: $15
  • Max Trip Size: 6 people
Description:

BWCA winter camping trip leaving Saturday Feb 18th at 7:30 am and returning Monday February 20th in the early evening. We will ski/snowshoe 1/2 mile into a lake and set up a camp and day trip out of it. This area has the best Indian pictograph site in the BWCA, the art and the image color are very good. This trip is a good trip for a person who has winter camped before, but participants would have to be equipped for backcountry camping. I offered this trip last year but it didn’t go out because of extreme -30 deg temperatures, I’m hoping for better conditions this winter. Joint outing with the North Star Sierra Club.
