Description:

Camping / hiking in Whitewater State Park

Thursday 8/4 to Sunday 8/7

Park website : https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/state_parks/park.html?id=spk00280#homepage
Google Maps : https://goo.gl/maps/2mx941679ARSNser9

Whitewater state park is one of Minnesota’s most popular parks, east of Rochester
Very low mosquito population (but beware of the gnats), great bluffs to hike up and on and trout fishing.
Relatively close to the Twin cities – under 2 hours even via a nice scenic route.

Food : bring yourself – if there is enough interest to do more we can arrange that
Activities :
Camping / Hiking (great for this), trout fishing, star gazing, some park activities
It is also possible to bike on the surrounding roads (no shoulders) – I like to bike into St Charles
and back which is an energetic 15 mile ride

Camp sites : group camp GC2 – tent camping only, can accommodate up to 50. Picnic shelter with Electricity
I am setting the limit at 20 rovers tents / 30 people + another 5 reserved for new rovers

Cost $40 if we have up to 10 takers, less if we have more.

Coordinator(s):
Michael H.
