Description:

Camping at Split Rock State Park
April 28 to May 2, 2024

An opportunity for early-season camping at a cart in site with a nice view overlooking Lake Superior at Split Rock State Park. Stay for one night or if you want any stay up to four nights. All activities are on your own with opportunities for photography, biking, hiking, kayaking, climbing at Palisade Head or touring historic Split Rock Lighthouse. Even relaxing, the early-season camping trip to explore the North Shore.

This event is self-sufficient in that you supply your own camping and sleeping gear, food and cooking equipment, bike or kayak for any activities you choose. There is room for three maybe four tents and a maximum of six people. Transportation is also on your own, but a trip list will be published near the starting date so you can make arrangements for carpooling.

These campsites are cart-in sites, with carts available at the trailhead. The showers and toilet building is closed for the season. Vaulted toilets are available nearby as well as a sheltered building/picnic area which would be great for inclement weather. As this is an early season camping trip, the weather could be cold or rainy, hopefully a pleasant time for all. The fee covers camping only for 1 to 4 nights, all other expenses are on your own.
