Description:

11.8 mile paddle on Blue Earth River to where it meets the MN River at Mankato. This description from “Paddling Southern MN.” “The Blue Earth is a great combination of fun class 1 rapids, dramatic rock outcrops, high wooded bluffs, and a pair of tributary waterfalls.” Leave at 8AM from Bloomington REI. Return by about 4:30. Limited to 3 boats. Any combination of canoes/kayaks. I stated it is a day trip but anyone who wants to camp overnight with me can do so. I will be paddling Sunday on the nearby Maple River which is also featured in the book “Paddling Southern MN.” I will be camping at the put-in campground.
