Join us to welcome the summer paddling season with a day cruise on the St Croix River, located an easy hour east of the Twin Cities, and designated a Wild and Scenic River. That means that we won’t have to compete with motorized boats, that the water will be clean, and that we may even see bald eagles or great blue herons. We will meet at 10 am on June 15 at the canoe landing site in Interstate Park (MN side). You may rent a canoe (about $46 including taxes and fees) or kayak ($35 including taxes and fees), or bring your own boat. We will launch at about 10:30 and plan to stop at least once for a snack and swim, before taking out at Osceola landing (7 miles downstream) at about 2:30 – 3:00. Those who are interested will adjourn to a local burger/beer joint in Osceola for an early dinner. This is the third (or possibly fourth) annual trip on the St Croix and is always popular, so don’t delay in signing up. Kris Felbeck and Cathy Perme are the coordinators.
