Canoeing-Beginner’s Series & Social

Sat, 5:00amMay 122012
Description:

This is the first part of the Canoe Beginner’s Series/Preparation for a BWCAW trip and open to all who are interested. We’ll be building skills like paddle strokes and steering a canoe.

We’ll put in near Cedar Point Beach at the North-East side of Cedar Lake in Minneapolis. We meet at 6:00 p.m. in the parking lot to be on the water at about 6:15 p.m. We’ll paddle as long as the light is good. After that we’ll go for some ice-cream at an establishment nearby.

We will try to partner up folks without canoes with those who have one. However, you may need to borrow a canoe from the cage (members only) or rent one from a local outfitter (non-members).

The second event in this series will be May 15 before the meeting at Lake Como.

Estimated cost: $0 (+canoe rental if applicable)
