Canoeing, Camping, Fishing — Cloquet River, MN

Category: Paddling

Fri - SunMay 26 - May 282017
  • Estimated Cost: $60
  • Deposit: $10
  • Max Trip Size: 6 people
Description:

The plan is to camp Friday night at Indian lake Campground. There should be an early start Sat morning from Indian Lake. Proceed down Cloquet River,a section designated as primitive/remote and describe by the DNR as wonderfully wild. The trip entails 35 miles, some class I& II rapids so intermediate paddling skills are desired. Most rapids have portages. Average travel-2 days. People are responsible for bringin their own food and carrying their own water or beverages of choice. With the possible exception of a shared evening meal. Water is available at the campground, but I will bring a filter for backup. A shuttle will be arranged. Each must arrange their own transportation and equipment. Costs would include gas and meals on the way up and back, plus campground fees. Driving to Indican Lake is about equal to driving to Two Harbors from the TC. Any overage on the deposit will be refunded; total cost TBD.
