Raise your hand if you’ve always wanted to go to Door County WI, because now is your chance! We have two group camp sites reserved for six nights, allowing you lots of time to play and explore.
We’ll be car camping at Peninsula State Park, so bring all your toys (road bikes, mountain bikes, kayaks, canoes). A few of the fun things to do include taking our bikes on a ferry over to Washington Island, hiking in the numerous state parks, kayaking over shipwrecks, going to a fish boil, or enjoying the Door County Fair. Activity researchers/coordinators would be much appreciated! More details will be available on a shared Google doc.
It’s about a six-hour drive (and limited parking), so carpooling is highly recommended. Breakfast and lunch will be on your own. Dinners will be a mix of on your own, pot luck, and going out to eat. Bring your own snacks, beverages, plates/utensils, chair and camping gear. You can borrow tents and sleeping bags from the gear locker, but you need to make advance arrangements with the Equipment Committee to reserve, pick-up and return items).
Check in is at 3:00 p.m. on Monday and check out is by 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. Drivers will need a WI vehicle permit ($38/annual for out-of-state). Permits are now good for one year from the date of purchase.
Estimated cost is $45 (includes camping & firewood; excludes transportation, WI state park sticker, and meals). A $45 deposit and current membership secures your spot. Refunds given only if your spot is refilled. The parking lot holds 20 cars, and parking preference will be given to those who carpool. Solo drivers will likely have to park in an overflow lot.
You must be a member of Minnesota Rovers to go on this overnight trip.
