Crane Meadow Refuge Spring Hike Trip — Little Falls, MN

Fri - SunApr 12 - Apr 142013
  • Estimated Cost: $60
  • Deposit: $35
  • Max Trip Size: 16 people
Description:

Cabin Fever? Let’s have a change of scenery! The Crane Meadows National Refuge in Little Falls is a good place to view the crane migration and other wildlife activity this spring. Little Falls is also home to the Charles A. Lindbergh State Park which has 8 miles of trail to explore. The cranes have already begun moving so we can’t be sure how many we’ll see but I’ve been told Rovers are very lucky with these things…

Lodging will be at Campfire Bay Resort in nearby Cushing. There are three cabins which sleep 8-16 people and all are available. The larger group we have the better the rates. For a group of 8, the lodging cost per person for the weekend will be $60.

We can eat at a local e on Friday night, either at the Black& White Cafe in Little Falls or across from the resort at the Hitchin’ Rail. Both are popular with the locals. Or you can bring a dinner. Breakfasts and lunches are on your own. The cabin has a full kitchen and there are already three crockpots signed up for the trip and we’ll use those to rustle up a tasty group meal for Saturday evening.

Estimated cost: $60/lodging + Sat. dinner. Deposit: $35. Max trip size: 16.
